Coursework — Support

Coursework is a fast, focused planner for the Canvas Learning Management System: see your week’s assignments, track completion with course-colored progress rings, browse courses and grades, check your calendar and announcements, and submit files — all from your phone.

Coursework is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Instructure, Inc. or Canvas.

Getting started

1. Open the app and you’ll be asked to sign in.
2. Enter your Canvas host — your school’s Canvas web address, e.g. myschool.instructure.com (without https://).
3. Enter an access token. Generate one in Canvas on the web:
   • Log in to your Canvas site in a browser.
   • Go to Account → Settings.
   • Under Approved Integrations, click + New Access Token.
   • Give it a purpose (e.g. “Coursework”) and click Generate Token.
   • Copy the token and paste it into the app.
4. The app loads your courses and assignments and you’re ready to go.

Features

• Tasks — your assignments grouped by week, with completion rings. Marking something done syncs back to Canvas.
• Courses — all your active courses with grades and details.
• Calendar — a month view of what’s due, with per-day detail.
• You — your profile and notification preferences (assignment reminders, daily digests, per-course muting).
• Home-screen widget — per-course progress rings at a glance.
• File submission — attach a photo or a file to submit an assignment.

Troubleshooting

• “Sign in required” or data won’t load — your access token may have been revoked or expired. Generate a new token (steps above) and sign in again.
• Wrong or no courses appear — only courses where you’re an active student are shown. Check your enrollment status in Canvas.
• Completion state looks out of date — pull to refresh on the Tasks screen.
• Widget is empty — open the app once after signing in so it can populate the shared data.
